Annual Dahlia Show |

Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6 The Annual Dahlia show will be held Saturday September 5 and Sunday September 6. The show flower for this year is "The Water Lily," any water lily. Looking forward to seeing novice and experienced growers take advantage of growing this exceptionally beautiful category. Our set up days will be September 3 and 4. If you wish to volunteer for sales, general task and sales management please contact Leslie (lesmch2@aol.com) or Rosa (rosanews@optonline.net.) In addition to the Show on Saturday, Sept 5, there will be our flower sales. We will have a need for cut flowers of Dahlias and other types of flowers (sunflowers, zinnias etc.) Additionally, we can use fill-ins, such as "greens," to fill around blooms and containers that can be used as vases (jars and vases from flower arrangements etc.) are also needed. We are trying to coordinate with Mid-Island Society on a class on judging. If you think you may be interested, please let Rosa or Leslie know by email. We do suggest that you look at the American Dahlia society website and look over the teaching modules for judging. We will keep you posted as to whether a class will take place. Once again, we encourage all to think about exhibiting their dahlias. Any questions you may have can be answered at the garden by our many experienced and knowledgeable directors and associates.
